Meet The Founder/Owner

Katie Stoeckeler

Raised in Ellenville, Katie moved to Piermont, New York in 2012 and opened Peace in Piermont (PiP) in 2019. At PiP, Katie teaches children, adults, and families ways of de-stressing and living in the present moment.

After noticing the impact of her teachings and feeling inspired to share them with a broader audience, Katie began creating a book series. The Give Your Brain A Bath Book series aims to teach readers both the importance of practicing self-care and various methods of doing so to increase self-awareness and one’s ability to self-regulate. So far, she’s published three books: Let’s Sit Down and Meditate, How Yoga Saved Christmas, and Let’s Have an Attitude of Gratitude.

Katie is actively working to make self-care more accessible by expanding her books into a television series and by developing an elementary-based curriculum. In April 2022, Katie launched a nonprofit, Peace in Ellenville (PiE), to spread mindful practices to her hometown!

In her spare time, Katie loves going on walks with her family and pup, Marshmallow.

MEET THE TEAM

Lyzzette Grassi

Lyzzette has been a yoga practitioner since 2010. In 2015, she met her teacher who guided her in creating a consistent yoga practice, rooted in intention, with love and acceptance of herself. She was inspired to deepen her practice and completed the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program at Bliss Yoga Academy and Wellness Studio. She believes her practice nourishes a resilient nervous system where she continuously finds balance and clarity, skillfully allowing the waves of life to flow. Yoga inspires her to be present and to live each moment mindfully.

Lyzzette is also a mom of two and a special educator for 17 years and counting. She believes being a parent and a special educator inspire her to stay connected to her true self - that is loving, whole and peaceful (our natural state). Yoga and mindfulness are tools and actions of self-care that she uses to cultivate this connection with herself so that she can mirror wholeness and peace to the children she serves - she can love them into loving themselves.

Lyzzette is committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for all students to explore their practice. She weaves together the fluidity of Vinyasa with the grounding principles of Hatha yoga to create a dynamic and balanced practice. With a deep passion for trauma-informed teaching and co-regulation, she prioritizes mindfulness and self-compassion in every class.

Gisele Brown

Gisele is a yoga instructor, as well as a health and wellness educator. She aims to give students a judgement free space to explore yoga and its transformational power. Her teaching method is nourishing and inviting to everyone with a focus on the health of the joints of the spine, alignments and self-awareness.

Gisele received her 200 YTT from the American Yoga Academy with Claire Diab. She also had the amazing opportunity to receive my 300 YTT advanced certificate at Yoga Shanti Studio with Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee. These trainings allowed Gisele to combine Iyengar teaching style, vinnyasana, and focusing on alignment, as well as a deep understanding of pranayama practice, mindfulness, and meditation.

“The practice of yoga and the study of its philosophy has transformed me and how I live my life. It is my great passion to pass on to my students all the transformative tools of this practice. I believe that help and serve is the path to peace and freedom, and that is my approach with my students in each class. When I am not on my mat, I like to go for long walks, ride my bike, be in nature, have a good conversation, read, and take care of my family. Nutrition is another passion of mine, and I am always looking for an opportunity to cook a healthy and fun meal. I believe that our health is our biggest possession.”

Dania Francis

Dania Francis, RN, MSN, FNP-BC  is a 200-hr RYT and Reiki Healer.  Dania has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and enjoys teaching Gentle, Vinyasa, Restorative, Prenatal, and Meditation.  As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Dania brings a special skillset to her classes with great knowledge of health for the whole body and mind.  Dania creates a safe place for her students, and leads classes intuitively based on the energy in the room.  Yoga is meant to meet you where you are in life, a time to breathe, and move your body giving you what you need in the moment.  Students can expect to feel welcomed, supported, and free to explore mind/body connection at their own level of comfort.  Your mat is a sacred place, and she is grateful to lead others on their journey.

As a Level I/II Usui Reiki Practitioner, Dania’s health background helps her to promote self-healing as she uses gentle hand movements to guide the flow of energy, helping to reduce stress and anxiety, clear blockages, and encourage relaxation  As a Breast Cancer Survivor, Dania has turned to her Yoga and Reiki to help her own self-healing and recovery, and she finds absolute joy in sharing this with others.

Tim Rogan

Tim Rogan is originally from just outside Washington, DC in Potomac, MD. He had been a fitness enthusiast for many years participating in CrossFit, marathons, triathlons, and obstacle course races until finally crossing over this year to becoming a professional trainer. He received his CrossFit L1 & USA Weightlifting Level 1 this spring, and is currently studying for the NASM CPT.

He is excited to start working with Peace in Piermont and teaching the Family Fitness class. Tim knows how hard it can be for family members to make time for their fitness. He hopes to provide both time and space for parents, kids & siblings to work out together, creating a shared experience that provides both family bonding and physical stimulus.

Telisha Bryan

Telisha Bryan has been a yoga and Pilates mat instructor in Westchester County, N.Y., for the past six years. She began her yoga and Pilates journey as she looked for low-intensity ways to stretch and strengthen her muscles while dealing with back pain. In her yoga teaching, she usually conducts hatha, gentle and yin classes, focusing on pranayama, or breathwork, as well as spiritual lessons. With Pilates, she specializes in teaching beginner and intermediate students. Her favorite yoga pose is reclined pigeon, and her Pilates fave is one-leg circles. She is on Instagram @Telishatheyogi, and she also writes a twice-monthly newsletter dealing with all things concerning mental and physical wellness.

Faye Rex

Faye Rex is a 500+HR yoga teacher based in NYC and the Lower Hudson Valley. Faye’s inherent grasp of human connection and compassion, mixed with her knowledge of the subtle body and nervous system, make her practice tender, dynamic, and powerful.

Faye is a nurturer, gentle, steady, and loyal, so after graduating from acting school at NYU, it’s no wonder she took to the patient practice of Yoga.

Faye received her two 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certifications from both Greenhouse Holistic and Sky Ting Yoga, and has trained with Paul Grilley for Yin, Alex Sharry and Abbie Galvin for Katonah Yoga, Abby Paloma for Restorative, Moms Do Yoga for Pre/Postnatal and Ally Bogard & Elena Brower for Meditation.

Chrissy Braun

Chrissy discovered yoga over 20 years ago, initially to offset her marathon training and then at a deeper level when she began to understand how transformative it can be. She obtained her YTT-200 through Westchester Yoga Arts in New Rochelle and continues to deepen her practice by sharing her love of yoga with others. She has experience teaching vinyasa and hatha as well as chair and family yoga. She cares deeply about creating positive experiences to help people connect with themselves and the world around them. She aims to facilitate welcoming, fun, and accessible yoga classes where students feel empowered to explore, grow, embrace their authenticity, and simply find joy in movement. Chrissy has lived in Massachusetts, London, and New York City. Having been a city girl most of her adult life, she now resides in Westchester with her husband and two cats. When she is off the yoga mat, you’ll often find her outdoors year-round, either on a run or paddling on the Hudson River.
