Class Descriptions

Camp PiP 7 hrs
Our day program, Camp PiP, is an immersion of mindfulness practices. Students study the art of living in the present moment via yoga, meditation, creative arts, + lots of time in nature. We pride ourselves in our 4:1 student to teacher ratio. Learning is not one-size-fits-all. We spend a lot of time + energy creating lesson plans that meet the needs of a diverse group of learners. Appropriate for children ages 3 - 12.

Early Childhood Music & Meet-Up 75 min.
Bring your littlest loves (0-3 years) and enjoy a 45 minute music and jam session with a band leader from Ramblin' Dan's Freewheelin' Band. You and your child will jam along on instruments, use props for activities, learn sign language, and of course clap, dance and sing together. Older siblings are welcome to join in too! After the music is done enjoy a 30-minute social circle at PiP where you can enjoy a cup of herbal tea (included for all adults) and connect with other local families from our community. If you’d like an additional child/adult to come along, you can fo $11/pp.

Family Fitness 45 min.
Students will participate in exercises and games that will build strength, increase body awareness, and improve coordination skills. You will use mostly bodyweight exercises with minimum equipment that you could do in your own home. You will be taken through a warmup, bodyweight resistance training and a metabolic conditioning piece to get your heart rate up. You will then do mobility work to aid recovery, and close out with a mindfulness practice that will help set your intention for the rest of the day! Appropriate for humans ages 0-101

Family Yoga 45 min.
This class provides a great opportunity to foster and deepen the connection you have with yourself and your loved one, exercise (with the option to have it be restorative or more challenging), and meet other local gems from our community. Appropriate for humans ages 0-101

Kids Night Out! /Glowga 2.5 hrs.
Drop your little love off for a night of fun! Weather permitting, we will adventure around Piermont, paint + craft, play board games + end our night with glowga (glow-in-the-dark yoga) + a guided meditation! The cost includes pizza dinnerβ€”gf can be accommodated when requested in advance.

Peaceful Play Group 75-min.
Our play group will open with 10-15 minutes of circle time that will include: a mindfulness meditation, group introductions, and a description of the toys/activities available for the session. There will be an array of open ended toys for the little ones to play with while the adults observe/hang. Weather permitting, we have a small outdoor garden where there will be a sensory table for children to explore.

This is NOT a drop-off class. The parent/care-giver must stay. Appropriate for crawling babies and toddlers! The cost is $35 for one adult and one child drop-in class. It is an additional $11 per child. The cost of the series is $300 ($25/class; $120 savings). Please notify the studio in advance if you plan to come with othersβ€”the intention is to keep this group intimate.

(11-14 y/o) 90 min *fall series will run 9/5β€”12/19*

A program designed to help tweens or teens explore the interconnectedness of mind, body, and creativity. This course combines the practices of mindfulness, yoga, and artistic expression to cultivate inner peace, self-awareness, and emotional balance.  Students will learn techniques to calm the mind, increase focus, and manage stress.  They will engage in physical yoga practice to enhance physical strength, flexibility, and body awareness.  Students will have the opportunity to express thoughts and emotions through various art forms.

Yoga, Meditation + Art Enrichment with Katie

(3-8 y/o/) 75 min. *fall series will run 9/10β€”12/17*

Throughout this series, students will learn fundamentals of Vinyasa yoga, various types of meditations, and pranayama. We will explore emotions and ways of moving feelings through out bodies via yoga, breath work, and creative expression (painting, drawing and journaling). Weather permitting, we will spend time outdoors, enjoying walking meditations and fostering presence in nature. At least 15 minutes of each class will be dedicated to creative play, where students will explore whatever activities interest them and teachers will observe studentsβ€”reminding them to implement mindfulness tools as any big emotions or conflicts arise. The depth of each class, as well as learning objectives will be adjusted based on age and ability.

β€œI was skeptical when I was told to check out peace in Piermont. Having a studio that offered all types of classes worried me that the result would be average or not focused enough. I was dead wrong. The classes are above average no matter the age. My son (who is shy and usually cries when I leave him new places) begs to go here. The work katie offers is thoughtful and gentle. PIPs approach to really letting kids shine and discover the value of mindfulness meditation and breath is impressive. The classes are small and I do notice a different version of my son when he’s done. It’s a little pricey but worth every penny. Adult classes are also well curated. Pushing and creating a very worthwhile experience. Stoked this studio is here.”

β€œKatie is not only a beautiful human being but she is extremely welcoming and creates a wonderfully zen environment. My son Zach, went for the kids night and won’t stop asking when he is going back. He was having an uncontrollable emotional day and he truly benefited from the solo experience and tranquility that was offered. I highly recommend Peace in Piermont it truly is a breath of fresh air, thank you!”

Katie is one of a kind β€” she has created the most calming and welcoming environment. My son is 9 and has special needs β€” Katie has been successful in helping him to feel successful!! She is so kind and inclusive β€” making sure that every child in the room knows they seen and heard. It is a magical place :)”
